What a beautiful day for the 89th running of The International Gold Cup at Great Meadow!!
We celebrated the generous support from The General Assembly and from Governor Spanberger that was approved in each year of the biennial budget. Those funds - $1 Million - will be used to promote, support and sustain the equine industry in Virginia, making needed capital infrastructure investments in this very special venue.
Along with members of the Virginia House of Delegates and the Senate of Virginia, Deputy Secretary of Agriculture & Forestry Ben Rowe, members of and the Executive Secretary of the Virginia Racing Commission, as well as leadership and members of the Great Meadow Foundation Board of Directors and Great Meadow Executive Director Cindy Jeffery, Fetlock Consulting’s Susan Gaston and Mike Pearson were honored to have played a role in securing this funding that will continue to promote growth in and excitement around horse racing in Virginia.
